A. slogan, "We .Stand for the Commandment 'Honor Thy Father and Thy Mother," led by Kay Uaum ; reading by Elsie Watson; talk by C. J. Black; solo, Frankie Baum and presentation speech, Rny Allen. During the afternoon af-ternoon delicious refreshments were served. SPRINGVILLE SOCIETY. GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. (Editors Note The following was taken from the "La Grande EveniDg Observer" of August 9 and will be of interest to many Springville people.) An elaborate affair took place iiy the Mt. Glenn L. D. S. church recently re-cently when Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Whiting celebrated their golden wedding wed-ding anniversary under the au-sicies au-sicies of the M. I. A. of Union stake. The church was gorgeously decorated decorat-ed with golden rods, gold colored crepe paper and golden heads of wheat. One hundred and fifty guests were received at the door and ushered into the church by girls, during whie htime music was rendered ren-dered ' "- ' . Mr. and Mrs. Whiting have lived in this vicinity for twenty-four years and Mr. Whiting is 78 years of age and Mrs. : Whiting is 75. ; Both people gave a very interesting talk during the? afternoon rominicent of their courtship and early days. .
