Show UTAH COUNTY CITIES TO AID I FALL FESTIVAL i Fruit Show Will Re Held on Second Floor of City and County Building. The harvest festival and Utah county fair proposed by the agricultural agricul-tural committee of the Provo Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce will be sponsored by the Utah county commission and the mayors of the various cities of the county. This w'as decided at a meeting in the office of the Provo Chamber of Commerce Friday nftor. noon at which the mayors and the commission were represented Samuel E. Taylor of Pavson president of the Utah County Farm Bureau federation, endorsed the plan and declared that the farmers of the county would support the fair and would exhibit their products prod-ucts at the same. Among those representing the mayors of the various towns were Thomas Powell of Lehi, H. S. Ras-mussen Ras-mussen of American Fork, Leo Ilarmer of Mapleton, Mayor Charles H. White of Payson and Frank Deming of Provo. According to the plans worked out -at the meeting the festival will be held in Provo Wednesday, Thurs- . day and Friday, September 24, 25 I and 2(i. The fruit exhibit may be : held on the second floor of the new-city new-city and county building although : definite decision on this point has i not as yet been taken. o-ue annual show of the Utah State Jersey Breeders association will also be held in connection with the festival, which will include all kinds of livestock and poultry. The business men's clubs, Rotary and Kiwanis, will furnish the entertainment en-tertainment programs for the first day, the farm bureau for the second day and the two forces join hands for the final day in making the festival and county fair a pronounced pro-nounced success. County Commissioner James T. Gardner of American Fork was named chairman of the executive committee. Other members of the committee are S. E. Taylor of Pay-son Pay-son and jr. P. Welch, county agricultural agri-cultural agent. The finance committee will consist con-sist of Mr. Gardner, Mayor O. K. Hansen and a representative from each town and city in the county. Secretary E. S. Hinckley and S. E. Taylor w-ill arrange the programs pro-grams and E. L. Roberts will have charge of the recreational features and Mr. Welch will be in charge of the exhibitions. Other members of these committees will be named later. Mr. Welch reported that the selection selec-tion of the prize winners iu the fruit and vegetable department of the fair would not be based on the artistic exhibit but rather on the quality of the product exhibited.
