Show SOCIETY A large number of relatives and friends from this city attended a trousseau tea given by Mr. and Mrs. Ed Williams at their home in Spanish Fork Sunday complimentary compliment-ary to their daughter Mary who will be married to Maurice Bird of this city this week. A nicely arranged dinner was given Sunday, by Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Finley complimentary to a number of friends. Entertaining rooms were pretty with decorations in fall flowers. The long dining table was centered with a large bowl of pink asters. Covers were laid for the following: Mr. and Mrs. Manferd Hutchinson and children, Mr. and Mrs- Jack Perham, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Harrison, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Roberson and son. Honoring Miss LaRie Dibble, a bride of this week, Miss Lillian Binks entertained at an enjoyable miscellaneous shower at her home Monday evening. The entire house was prettily decorated with a variety va-riety of flowers. -Games followed by a delicious luncheon were features fea-tures of the evening. After lunch the bride opened the many beautiful beauti-ful gifts presented her by the many friends present. More than forty were in attendance. The ladies of the Home Culture club spent an enjoyable afternoon Thursday at the home of Mrs. Cornell Cor-nell Mendenhall. Attorney Glenn Woodmansee gave an especially interesting in-teresting talk on "The Emmigrant in America." This was followed by a reading by Miss V irginia Con-ners Con-ners of the high school. A dainty luncheon was later served by the hostess to nineteen members and one guest present. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jensen entertained en-tertained during the week end at their home in Mapleton for Mr. and Mrs- L. L. Arnett also Leon Whiting Whit-ing of Rupert, Idaho. Mrs. A. Y. Wheeler was honor guest at a nicely arranged surprise party given by her daughters at the A. Y. Wheeler home Tuesday evening. Progressive "Cootie" furnished fur-nished pleasant entertainment during dur-ing the evening. Prizes for the game were awarded to Mrs. Mary Zabriskie and Dimick Childs. At 11 o'clock a tasty luncheon was served to the following people present: Mr. and Mrs. Ed William's, Bishop and Mrs. Isaac Briggs, Spanish Fork, Mr. and Mrs. Alva Zabriski, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Payne, Mr. and Mrs. Dell Thorn, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Reynolds, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Wheeler, Mr. and Mrs. Dimick Childs, Mr. and Mrs. David Wheeler, Wheel-er, Mrs. Walter Wheeler, Mrs. Matilda Ma-tilda Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cranmer, Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay I Parker, Jack Cherrington, Mrs. Hattie Blackett, and Mrs. Beulah Whiting. The occasion was Mrs. Wheeler's birthday anniversary. Music was furnished during the evening by Ed Williams of Spanish Fork. Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss LaRie Dibble of Mapleton. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Dibble to Burton Warren, War-ren, son of Mrs. Ruby Jensen also of Mapleton. The ceremony was performed Tuesday in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Warren will make their home in this city. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wheeler entertained enter-tained at an informal dinner at their home Wednesday complimentary complimen-tary to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Board-man Board-man who were visiting here. Covers Cov-ers were laid for ten. A number of friends delightfully surprised Dell Thorn at his home Friday evening, the occasion being his birthday anniversary. Many interesting in-teresting games were features of entertainment. A delicious supper was served late in the evening to the following guests present: Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Thorn, Mr. and Mrs. Orlin Thorn, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Thorn, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Whiting, Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Thorn, Mr. and Mrs. A. Y- Wheeler, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Payne, Mrs. Mattie Thorn, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Payne, Mrs. Jim Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Will Palfreyman, A number of young folks were delightfully entertained Thursday afternoon when Mrs. Will Parry entertained at a birthday party in honor of her little daughter, Mildred, Mil-dred, whose eigh,th birthday occurred oc-curred that day. A pretty color scheme in pink and white was effectively ef-fectively carried out in room and table decorations, rose buds and dahlias being employed. The long dining table was centered with a large pink and white cake holding eight candles. Rose-bud baskets of candy were the favors. After playing play-ing a number of games on the lawn the guests, who numbered twenty marched in the house and found their places. Luncheon was served by the hostess assisted by Mrs. Ernest Oakley. |
