Show V'..f ; j a i P e h tf Springville Educators Take Short End of baseball Contest. Springville educators went down to defeat to the scon) of 17 to 4. before the terrific batting of the business men in the baseball game between the high school faculty and the Springville business men, "Wednesday "Wed-nesday afternoon on the high school campus. Ted Jones started the scoring in the first inning by sending out a home run hit, which precedent was never lost sight of by the business men during the entire game. The regular batting of the merchants mer-chants in the first part of the game seemed to bewilder the pitchers of the educators, while on the other hand Johnson for the merchants winged the ball over the plate in circles unfathomable to the philosophical philo-sophical eyes of the teachers. The dispensers of the necessities scored 4 runs in the first inning and continued to score regularly during the entire game, while the dispensers dispen-sers of knowledge failed to find the Imckskjn until the fifth Inning and then Christensen, was substituted for Johnson in the pitchers box and again the course of travel of the buckskin was lost. Home run hits were scored by Jones, Beal, Christensen, Deal, Johnson nnd Phillips, while the spectacular base running by Dr. Beal nnd Trace Christensen attracted attract-ed much attention from the grand stnnd. The field work of both tenuis was exceptionally fine. The victory is probably due to the excellent coaching of Manager John P. Mendenhal. k The line up was os follows for (he school, Baxter, It. L. Done. Barron, Smith Coffninn, M. L. Done, Childs Allemnn nnd Wayne Johnson. For the business men : Bill rhillips, A. G. Johnson. Ted Jones. Andrew Peterson, Dr. Beal. Dr. Mace.
