Show Better Homes In order to assist in creating interest in Better Homes ;ek Uncle Sain himself is taking a special interest in the ivement and is askng his efficiency expert, Herbert Hoover, ! direct the move throughout his vast domain, for Uncle i m, no doubt, being a wise old chap, understands that the Aire of the United States depends upon better homes. Surveys of various kinds have shown that beyond the adow of a doubt, the home is the place in which to solve my of our most troublesome problems inclining juvenile :inquency. A good home, like a good factory, usually turns t a ood product, a product that is an asset, rather than iabiiity to society. In order to focus attention upon the )blem of building good homes and in order to assist those to would like help in constructing better ones, the week ' April 24. to 30, has been designated as Eetter Homes Week. During that week, in every live community in this jntry exercises will be held which will be intended to assist q citizens of that community to build better homes, both ysically and spiritually. Provo has her committee which already busy laying plans for the week, and every home mer, and by "home owner" we mean those who rent as ill as those who own the buildings in which they make eir home, should give the matter some attention. Plans are being laid whereby people may be given an sa what a good home is like. The committee is planning show the ideal small home and the ideal larger home as ey feel that people with limited means are the ones who ed the help most. Ideas in decoration, internal as well as ternal, will be given by experts to those seeking the better me in order that the home product may be a better product. We are glad to see our city taking an active interest in e government program, for we feel that Provo is an ideal ime city and that it should be filled with ideal homes. We ,ve a natural setting for good homes that few cities in this any other country possess, we hope we can make homes rhaps not big but wholesome that will be comparable their natural surroundings. |
