Show LAKE BOTTOM UNCHANGED IN 20 YEARS The level of I'tah lal;e bottom is the same now as it was twenly years ago is the conclusion of George II. Bacon, state engineer, who, with a representative of the United Slates bureau of reclainalion, spent a part of yesterday on the lake. Comparisons Compari-sons were made by soundings on a line about a mile and one-half south of the big pumping plant near Lehi, with the results recorded in a survey sur-vey of the late bottom levels by an engineer named Ilorlon, twenty-one years ago. No change was found. Mr. Bacon inspected the pumping plant, which is now lifting about .100 second-foot of water for the irrigation irriga-tion of lands in Salt Lake county, anil also made a personal insiiection of the west side of Ihe Jordan valley, val-ley, in Salt I.aice county, noting where present canals run and where surveys have been made in connection connec-tion with the Croat Salt Lake basin project, of lines for suggested canals. |
