Show EXPERTS TO SELECT BEST EXHIBITIONS "Uncle" Ben Eldridge to Act as Judge of Livestock Section j Some of the foremost specialists in their respective lines in- the in-termountain in-termountain region have been selected select-ed to net as judKGS in the various departments of the Utah County Fair and Harvest Festival, according accord-ing to members of the board of supervisors. su-pervisors. Ben R. Eldridge, "widely known throughout L'tah and the surrounding surround-ing states as a practical livestock breeder and capable judge, has been chosen to judge the'dairy cattle and horses. . Prof C. T. Cannon of the department depart-ment of animal husbandry of the Young university will judge the hogs and sheep. Rulon Dixon, instructor in-structor in Agriculture at the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove high school and a poultry expert of note, will do the judging of the poultry division. The field crops, vegetables and fruits will be judged by Dr. George Stewart, agronomist of the Utah i xVgricultural college. Dr. Thomas L. Martin and ProL Laval S. Morris, both of the agricultural department of the Young university. These men, too, are very proficient in their lines and are fully capable of making the awards in these departments, j Dr. Stewart, with the assistance of Prof. C. Y. Cannon of the Young university, will judge the agricultural agricul-tural and livestock exhibits of the j junior project work. These men will also officiate in the crop and stock I judging contest s which will be con-1 ducted In the department of junior project work. The judges in the department of home economics will be Mrs. Effie S. P.arrows, home management specialist spec-ialist of the Utah Agricultural college col-lege extension service and two specialists spec-ialists from the faculty of the home economics department of the Young university. The latter two judges will he named at an early date. Final word has not been received concerning the judge for the department depart-ment of fine arts. It is announced, however, that this judge will be chosen from among the three or four of the most prominent artists of the state outside of Utah county. |
