Ybnrra, trying to act as mediator between two of his fighting countrymen, country-men, was shot by John Torriez, 25, Friday afternoon about 2 :30 o'clock. Torriez left the mining camp immediately im-mediately after the shooting. - Sheriff J. D. Boyd left early Saturday . morning for southern Utah where he believes he will locate the gun wiedler and place him under arrest. "Torriez and another Mexican were fighting each other Friday afternoon," af-ternoon," said Ybarra, lying on his cot at the county infirmary, to a Herald reporter. "When I saw them, Torriez had a large rock in his hands which he was going to throw at the other fellow. I grabbed his arm and shook the rock from his band. Just then he jerked out a gun and shot me below the hip. I managed to wrest the gun away from him, before be-fore he succeeded in getting lose. He ran away as soon as he got lose." Yljnrra1 was brought to tho Drs. Westwood and Beck hospital Friday Fri-day even where Dr. J. Karl Beck, county physician, gave first aid after which tho Mexican was Uken-to Uken-to tho county infirmary. |
