A $150,000 visitor center at Timpanogos Cave near Amer-ican Fork is now partially in use, according to mounment superintendent Thomas A. Walker. Formal dedication ceremonies for the Timpanogos center will be held in the au tumn, after completion of dis-plays and exhibits. While the Timpanogos Cave National Monument visitor center will not open formally until the fall season, its fa-cilities will greatly ease con-gestion at the heavily visited caverns on the Alpine Loop road in American Fork Can-yon. Improved parking, bet-ter access to the trail ascend-ing to Timpanogos Cave, new restrooms and new refresh-ment facilities have all been added to the 250 acre Timp site.
