Senior came in for three quick baskets and Carbon tanked two more as the half-time half-time ended 35-25. Halftime fun Halftime activities were enjoyed en-joyed by. the crowd as they watched the clever stunt performed per-formed by the Pep club. They depicted in verse and appropriate approp-riate enactment, the trail the Devils would take to the state tourney. The club is directed by Darlene Ammott. Diana All-red All-red is drill mistress. Devils win caroon drew first blood in the Devil-Dino contest here last Friday night when Ellington, Elling-ton, ace colored boy for the visitors, sank a side shot right after the tip off. Senior drove in for a shot to tie up the game, but Bird was caught fouling for the Devils and Carbon Car-bon sank the foul and then dunked another basket to take a 5-2 lead. The smaller Dinos came up with some beautiful shots and sleeper sleep-er lay-ins to give the Devils trouble all during the game. Reid got 21 counters and Senior Sen-ior 20 to lead the Devils. Groneman played his usual hard working game with a goodly performance in the score column with 11 points. Bird scored for the Devils and Reid got a two and one to bring the locals ahead 7-5-Groneman missed a charity toss, but Thorpe dunked a center cen-ter shot. Ellington retaliated and then Reid come up with a long swisher and then a lay-in to bring the score to 13-7. Carbon Car-bon hit a foul toss and dunked a basket to close the gap 13-10. 13-10. Groneman connected on the foul line and Carbon got another an-other basket to trail by 2 before be-fore Reid connected again from way out as the quarter ended 16-12. Groneman sank a center shot as the second half opened and Carbon tossed in a foul. Senior made it 20 to 15 with two foul tosses and Bird got a two and one to give the Devils their widest margin of 23-15. Carbon added one from the foul line, Senior dunked a basket bas-ket followed by Carbon and then added another for himself and Reid put in a lay up shot as the Devils took a 19-29 |
