An open house Saturday, January 19, will honor longtime long-time residents of this area, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Allan, on the occasion of their 50th weddmg anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Allan were married Jan. 22, 1913 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, and have lived here over 43 years. For about three years, they resided at Mapleton and for three years also on a ranch in Hobble Creek Canyon. Mrs. Allan (Sarah) was born Oct. 11, 1892 in Hobble Creek Canyon 10 miles east of Springville, to Thomas and Mary Catherine Webster Barker. Bar-ker. Mr. Allan is a native of Mapleton, born Sept. 11, 1888, a son of Charles Edward and Elizabeth Watkins Allan. He followed farming for a number of years working on a threshing thresh-ing machine. He has also been employed at the pipe plant and at Geneva until his retirement. For several years, he was custodian cus-todian of the 4th-7th Ward Church and worked on the church welfare until 1961.
