Later he acompanied Mr. and Mrs. Glen Sanford on their way home from the fair at Seattle, to LaPeuente, Calif., for a few days visit. Iceland and Scotland. They made the trip by plane. They expect to depart from New Foundland in September for another assignment. Dale Long, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Long, is taking his internship as a bacteriologist at Orange County Hospital, in California. He received a BS degree from Brigham Young University this spring. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ferran and family and Mrs. Ferran's mo-ther, .Mrs. Adelina Lopez of Monticello, have returned home from an enjoyable vacation trip to the Northwest. They visited a brother and sister-in-la- w and family at Garibaldi, Oregon, together with numer-ous points of interest through-out the vicinity and also made a tour of Portland. Frank J. Sanford has return-ed from a vacation trip to Cal-ifornia. He visited a few days Yeu5 1lote5 . . . Mr. and Mrs. E. V. Crandall recently enjoyed a visit from their son and daughter-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. Dick Crandall and three daughters of San Luis Obispo, Calif., the past week. Mr. Crandall is an en-gineer with the Department of Highways for the State of California with offices in San Luis Obispo. While in Utah, they enjoyed a trip to Flaming Gorge, Dinosaur Quarry and other points of interest near Vernal. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin C. John-son and family have moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, from their home in Mapleton. Mr. John-son has been transferred in his work as salesman for Interna-tional Harvester Co. Their daughter, Linda, a senior next year, plans to complete her high school here. t. and Mrs. Robert Tay-lor (Charmian Long) recently completed a tour of Europe from t. Taylor's Air Force base in New Foundland. Funeral today for husband of local girl Funeral services are being held in Lynndyl today at 12 noon for Gary Irving Nielson, 26, husband of Mrs. Eva Lue Burrows Nielson, formerly of Springville, who died Sunday, after a brief illness. Burial will be the Springville Ever-green Cemetery. Mr. Nielson was a native of Lynndyl and attended school there and at Delta and gradu-ated from University of Utah in 1959 as a chemical engineer. He married Miss Burrows of Springville March 20, 1959, in the Salt Lake Temple. At the time of his death he was employed by the Ohio Oil Co. Research Center in Little-ton, Colo., where they had lived the past three years. He was ward clerk of the Englewood LDS Ward at Littleton. Mr. and Mrs. Juan Whiting and family have as their house guests two of her nephews from Louisiana. Stephen Wiscombe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wiscombe, is confined to the Utah Valley Hospital where he underwent major surgery last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Ben-nett are enjoying a visit from their daughter and son-in-la- Mr. and Mrs.- - Bill (Kathleen) Shaw and son of Oregon. Weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cox have been their daughter and son-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. Verl Farnsworth and children of Ogden. ' Mr. and Mrs. Blake Everett have received word of a grand-son, born to their daughter, Lorraine and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Wetherall of Nephi. The new baby has one sister. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hansen spent several days in their Mapleton home. He is employ-ed in southern Utah. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Binks have returned to their home in Bell Gardens, Calif., after spending three weeks visiting with friends and relatives in Mapleton. Visiting herefrom Vernal are Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hopla and two children. They have been house guests at the homes of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Larson and Mrs. Ma-bel Hopla. Mrs. Florence Stone and son Leonard are home after a plea-sant visit with her daughter, Vera and family who live in Phoenix, Arizona. The Maple Blossom 4-- H Club took a tour of a lumber com-pany at their last meeting. Class leaders are Mrs. Paul Best and Mrs. Duane Rowberry. Spending several months at the home of their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Johnson, are two grandchildren from Southern California. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Fry and family of Anaheim, Calif., are spending several days vis-iting with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hjorth and with relatives in Provo. Kerby Crandall, June 29, at Oak Harbor, Wash.
