There was no contest con-test in the 5th district where Harrison Conover filed on the Republican ticket and Marvin Warren on the Democratic. For county assessor, Charles Maston Wentz of Mapleton, a Republican won of Edve H. Long, in the Primary. There was no contest for this post in the Democratic ballot. For coutny sheriff, Fred D. Loveless won over James F. Miller of Springville. There was no contest in the Primary on the Republican ballot, Dick Chappel being the only candidate. For county treasurer, O. V. Fransworth won over his opponent, op-ponent, Doris H. Wilkins and Farnsworth will compete for this post against Maurice Bird 6f Springville in the November election. Mr. Bird had no opponent. op-ponent. For 4-year county commissioner, commis-sioner, A. Clark Nelson was the successful candidate on the Republican ballot and David Greenwood on the Democratic. They defeated Ward Webb and Virgil Peterson, respectively. For Justice of the Peace at Mapleton, Norris T. Binks won the position over Ralph Har-mev. Comparatively light voting was reported in most of the districts in Springville and Mapleton Tuesday, but n those who did vote followed the trend in the county in chos-ing chos-ing candidates to run on the two tickets in the November general election. A,s result of the Primary voting in the .county, Wallace Bennett (R) winning over his opponent, J. Bracken Lee, will face David S. King (D) who defeated Calvin L. Rampton in the primary, for the U. S. Senator post. Sherman L. Lloyd winning easily over Reed A. Benson in the Republican voting for representative rep-resentative in congress, will compete against Bruce S. Jenkins (D) in November. Pratt Kesler (R), unopposed in the Primary will face Wm. H. (Bill) Henderson (D) in the November election. Henderson won over Bryant H. Croft John T. Bernard winning over Rue L. Clegg in the Primary Pri-mary will have a woman, Mrs. Algie E. Ballif as his opponent in the state senator race in district 1. Mrs. Ballif defeated Wallace Wayman. In district 2, Harvard Hin-ton, Hin-ton, Democrat won in the Primary Pri-mary over Francis Lundell. In contests for state representative repre-sentative in District 1 and 3, the Democrats named Ernest Er-nest H. Dean over Jack Alls-house Alls-house in District 1, and Vasco M. Tanner over Cleo Thatcher in district 3. The representatives contests on the Republican ballot were in district 2, where Russell H. Hansen won over B. J. Anderson Ander-son and in district 4, where |
