Show Season for waterfowl opens Oct. 14 Utah's waterfowl season for 1961 will begin Oct. 14 at Noon and continue through Dec. 27, with shooting hours to be one-half hour before sunrise sun-rise to sunset except for Nov. 4, when opening hour will be 8:00 a.m. to conform with opening of the pheasant hunt that day. Other major waterfowl season sea-son regulations were recently approved by the Utah Fish and Game Commission to incorporate in-corporate the maximum allowable allow-able provisions. Both bag and possession of ducks are . the same, or five birds in each instance. Once again this year two species, the redhead and canvasback, are protected and may not be part of any bag. Not more than one wood duck may be included includ-ed in any bag of ducks. Bag and possession limit for coots is 25 birds. Bag for American Am-erican or red breasted mergansers mer-gansers is 5. rjossession 10. Bag and possession limits for geese are six birds, though only one may be of the Canada Can-ada or dark species. The 75 day season this year is some 15 days shorter than the waterfowl hunt of a year ago. All other regulations are substantially the same as in 1960. It won't be long before the flies will be around making screen tests ... If you have a dirty bird, there's a Peacock Cleaners in Chicago . . . Work stoppages during 1960 cost over 19,000,000 man-days last year: hardest hit were makers of transportation equipment. |
