Mapleton calls truck, well in emergency (Continued from Page One.) until the rains came, the truck and pump proved valuable equipment, keeping supplementary water in the pipes to releave the sit-uation. The storm supplied more wa-ter to the springs which fill the headhouse and a curtailed use of culinary water by townspeople, has helped to solve the problem. Meantime work is progres-sing on the Mapleton's new culinary water well being dril-led on property near the City Hall, across from the City Park. Expected to be completed and in use within three weeks, the well is expected to be dril-led to a depth of 400 to 500 feet. J. G. Lee Company has the contract. Until the water shortayi problem is solved, Mapleton users are asked to conserve water whenever possible and 10 adhere strictly to the new sprinkling schedule outlined by city officials. Teachers with a master's de-gree get $200 more on eacM step of the pay ladder. The salary scale, as adorAtd by the Board and the Teach-ers' Association, stipulates that this schedule will stand for the school year 61-6- 2 as well as for 62-6- 3 reported Superin-tendent Stansfield. Substantial increase granted to teachers (Continued from Page One.) salary becomes $6375. This last figure is an increase of $375 over the 1960-6- 1 schedule re-ported Superintendent Statu-fiel- d. Considering the Board parti-cipation of $72.00 on hospital-ization and medical insurance benefits, the total figure comes to $6447 on the maximun: or approximately $716 per month for a school year.
