Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Norton (Jane Cherrington) and family who have been making their home at Bettendorf, Iowa, have moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to where Mr. Norton has been transferred. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Whiting and four children returned recently re-cently from an enjoyable 2-weeks 2-weeks vacation in the east. They went by plane to Detroit, Mich., where they picked up a new car for the remainder of , the trip. They toured numerous num-erous places of interest including includ-ing Palmyra, Hill Cumorah and the Sacred Grove in Palmyra. They also stopped briefly with relatives in Canindaguia, N.Y., and spent two days sight-seeing in New York City. Other sight-seeing tours were taken in Ohio and in Chicago, 111. Mr. and Mrs. Woodrovv Winters Win-ters and family of this city enjoyed a visit last week from Mrs. Winter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Heinze of Burley, Ida. and Mrs. Winter's brother, broth-er, Harry Heinze and wife and family of Selah, Wash. Harry is a former employee of the Art City Publishing Co., and dropped in during their visit to renew acquaintances and visit friends. At a social hour Friday at the Park, Active 20-30 Anns and their children spent the time visiting and making a float for the July 4th celebration celebra-tion directed by Chairman Barbara Martain. The members mem-bers were urged by the new president Mary Louise Brere-ton Brere-ton to celebrate the holiday in Springville. New officers of the 4 Nimble Nim-ble Thimbles 4-H club have been elected to include: Irene Meason, president; Marva Ewell, vice-president; Ilene Averett, secretary and Ila Ann Shepherd, reporter. Meetings are planned each week directed by Mrs. LaVern Meason, leader lead-er and Lela Averett, assistant. |
