Springville Will See BYU Production Before Cast Leaves For Far East A cast from the Brigham Young University which will tour the Orient with the play, "Blithe Spirit," for the armed forces, will erive a preview of the performance in Springville next Wednesday evening, January 13, at 8 p.m., in the Junior high school audi-torium. It will be a building fund benefit performance under the sponsorship of the Eleventh ward and tickets may be se-cured from the Sunday School, High Priests or Seventy quo-rum members, or at the door. Directed by Dr. Harold I. Hansen of the BYU speech department, ' who has won na-tional acclaim for his work as director of the Hill Cumorah pageant, the play cast will comprise drama majors and graduate students of the BYU. The "Y" was selected, one of eight schools in the nation to present a play to armed forces in Japan, Hongkong, Korea, the Phillipincs, Okin-awa, Guam and Hawaii, be-cause of the outstanding dra-matic art department. The play cast will leave on the tour January 22 and will be gone six weeks. An interesting and unique feature in connection with the play is the scenery which has been designed by Dr. Hansen to double as packing cases for the cast for air traveling to the various countries. The fur-- mture and various other props will be used as "suit cases" for cast members and when unpacked will become scenery. Presentation of the play, a ct comedy which became popular in the Broadway stage, is being brought to Springville through the efforts of James Lawrence, and is expected to furnish a real treat to the public. The story briefly deals with the spirit of a woman who came back to torment her hus- - , band's second wife and will furnish many a good laugh and a delightful entertainment for everyone. 1 Relatives Note Birthday at Party A group of relatives gather-ed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Shirl Poulsen Saturday even-ing, to surprise Mrs. Poul-sen on her birthdav. flames. lunch and visiting were enjoy-ed by the following: Mr. and Mrs. Chester French and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Jones of Ashton, Ida. who visited here 4 days enroute to Phoenix, Ariz., to spend the winter; also Mr. and Mrs. Walt Wheeler of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wheeler and Mr. and Mrs. Mirl Ford. lfews lfole5 . . .
