Binks j Phono HUnter j The Indian boys who have been living with Mapleton fam-ilies during the school year are returning to their homes in Arizona. Among them are Bud dy Ray, Harold Novayktew and Elliott Murphy. The closing meeting of the Needle Craft Club was held last Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Gwen Allan at which new officers were select-ed for the coming year. Har-riet Nielson will be the new president; Amanda Binks, nt and Eva Bird, secre- - tary and treasurer. They re-place Esther Hurst, Blanch Tew and Marie Morgan. A social afternoon of visiting and needle work was enjoyed af-ter which a tasty luncheon was served by Norma Woolsey, Lora Bird, Gwen Allan and Esther Hurst. New families who have mov-ed into Mapleton recently are Mr. and Mrs. Dale Sheffield and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ron-ald H. Graves, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Graves and their fam-ilies and Merrill and Phyllis Wilson. Collin Allan left Friday morning for Sun Valley, Idaho to represent Utah Savings and Loan Company of Provo at a convention there. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Chipman and family of Bountiful were weekend visitors at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jensen. They were here especially to attend the grad-uation exercises at the BYU and to be present when her brother, Duane Jensen received his diploma. Wilma Barker has been re-leased as in the Mapleton ward Junior Sunday School and Gerry Tibbetts has been selected to take her place. Relatives and friends will be interested to know that Dr. John W. Whitely of Gunnison, husband of Ruth Holley, for-merly of Mapleton has been appointed as state veterinar-ian. The appointment, announ-ced by George Q. Spencer, chairman of the Utah Board of Agriculture, is effective June 15. Dr. Whitely, an auction mar-ket veterinarian for the state at Salina, Richfield and Delta for the past six months, suc-ceeds Dr. Paul V. Christoffer-son- , Pleasant Grove.
