Show Mapleton Townfolk Have Guests, Take Trips Past Several Days Whittier, Calif., after spend-ng spend-ng the holidays at the home of his parents, Patriarch and Mrs. Oscar Whiting;. Mrs. Martha Houtz has enjoyed en-joyed a visit from her daughter daugh-ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Gregerson and two sons of Fairfield, Calif. The Gregersons also visited with his parents in Monroe. Mrs. Elmo Court underwent surgery in the Payson hospital last week. s The Mapleton Lady Lions were entertained at the home of Mrs. Norma Mackenzie on Thursday evening where out- going officers were special t guests. Lovely planters were x presented to Zora Hales, Ruth Larson, Erma Hjorth and Beu- lah Harmer. After their business busi-ness meeting an evening of games followed by refreshments refresh-ments was enjoyed. New president presi-dent Zora Hales was in charge. The Lions met the same evening in Memorial Hall under un-der the direction of president Glenn Mackenzie. Their next supper party for January 21 was planned. Three Mapleton boys have recently joined the Navy and have left for their base in San Diego where they will take their basic training. They are Clyde Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Bennett, LeRoy Pulsipher, Pul-sipher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Pulsipher and Everett Miller Mil-ler Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Norris T. Binks spent the weekend in Salt Lake City and Bountiful where they visited with relatives. They went especially to attend a family supper held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Kearns (Jennie) where their guests Members of the Birthday Club enjoyed a supper and social so-cial evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wyman of Spanish Fork. Mrs. Richard Thompson, who .is moving to Provo to make her home, has been released as president of the Mapleton Second Sec-ond ward Primary. Taking her place as president is Mrs. Joyce Whiting. Her counselors will be Mrs. Norma Johnson, and Mrs. Erma Hjorth. Mapleton Memorial Hall was the scene of a family reunion Saturday afternoon when the members of the late Isaac and Lorena Draper met for a family fam-ily dinner. A fine program was presented by family members and gifts were exchanged. All family members were present with the exception of one sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Ed Larson of Seattle, Washington. Family members present were Dr. and Mrs. Carol Draper and family of Logan; Mr. and Mrs. Willard Taylor and family of Springville, Spring-ville, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Dra-pei, Dra-pei, Mr. and Mrs. Glade Draper, Dra-per, Mr. and Mrs. LuRay Draper, Dra-per, all of Genola and Mr. and Mrs. Reid M. Hales of Mapleton. included Mr. and Mrs. Lee Erickson, Mrs. Joseph Erick-son, Erick-son, Mrs. Kenneth Erickson, and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Clark (Glenna), all of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Erickson of Murray and Mr. and Mrs. Norris T. Binks of Mapleton. They visited their son Blair Binks and family in Bountiful Sunday. Herbert Miner Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Miner, spent the holidays with his family. He returned to San Diego Jan. 11 for further training train-ing with the navy. Mr. and Mrs. Niel Steiner spent last week end in Las Vegas visiting with his mother Mrs. Millie Steiner and with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Arvan Leaney. Elsie Tolman an Indian girl making her home with Bishop and Mrs. Reed Bennett, spent the holidays visiting in Cedar City with a friend, Mary Livingston, Liv-ingston, who lives with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Petty. Mr. and Mrs. Thales Brown and family have been guests at the home of her mother, Mrs. Nell Wiscombe. A New Year's party and supper sup-per was enjoyed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hjorth by the Young Married Group of the Mapleton Second ward. After supper they all went to the Stake Dance in Springville Spring-ville for an evening of dancing. Planning the party were Mr. and Mrs. Juan Whiting, Mr. and Mrs. John Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Tuttle and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Bennett. Mr. and Mrs. Sammy Fullmer Full-mer of Logan spent the holidays holi-days at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Fullmer and Mr. and Mrs. Fer-rus Fer-rus Warren. Mr. and Mrs. Sid Headman returned home last week after spending the holidays in California Cali-fornia with her parents. Home after a holiday visit with their two daughters in Whittier, Calif., are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Davidson and son Richard. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Whiting have returned to their home in |
