In doing spring house-cleaning, if townspeople run across a news article, a picture or any other item which tells a story of any phase of Springville's history, the library would appreciate getting it. Recently in a book, was found an old time Business Directory Di-rectory of the town which demonstrates de-monstrates the kind of material needed to make a complete history his-tory of the city. The directory listed such business houses as: James Allsworth, shoemaker; Mrs. A. Barnum, furniture and notions; Boyer House, hotel; E. R. Brown, shoemaker; Cran-dall Cran-dall House, hotel; W. C. Carter, Car-ter, blacksmith; Alma Child, stone cutter; Thomas Child, mason; A Dennis, painter; J. P. Evans, tinner; I. Fordonski, salon; N. H. Groesbeck, general store; George Harrison, restaurant; res-taurant; Hans Hanson, painter; Jonah Phillips, blacksmith; F. Randall, butcher; H. White, barber; Thomas Tame, harness maker; L. S. Wood, furniture; Matilda Houtz, milinery; Packard Pack-ard Bros., general store |
