Show Scouts Organize To Advance Up Eagle Trail At a recent court of honor held by Troop 128 of the Eleventh Elev-enth Ward, with parents as special guests, the Order of the Sioux Nations was organized. Initial members of the order are Reed Bartlett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bartlett; Bill Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Miller; and Dennis Drake, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Drake. To be eligible to join , the order, the Scout must be a Star Scout and show a strong interest in Scouting and outdoor out-door activities. As each boy is admitted to the order, he is given an Indian headband with a feather to indicate his rank. As the boys advance in rank, additional feathers will be given. giv-en. Also each boy is given a name of one of our great Indian In-dian Chiefs, and is required to know the History of this chief and his tribe. The purpose of this order is to instill in the boys, the ambition am-bition to want to advance up the Eagle Trail. Special outdoor activities each month are planned for the order as well as assisting in presentation ceremonies at each monthly troop court of honor. Scoutmaster Paul V. Boman Bo-man is advisor for the order. |
