"- .y - i 2i - Group of Kolob Stake Genealogical work-ers who recently completed a research training- class at which there was an aver-age attendance of 39 members from a total enrollment of 43. Frank Patten is stake chairman. The class is the second sponsor-ed by the stake and members will assist the wards in research and other genealogy work. William O. Tolman of the JJYU Ex-tension and his wife Opal were instructors. The class climaxed the course with an ex-cursion to the Manti Temple where 119 en-dowments were done by members. Registration Set For Summer Dance Classes The Utah Conservatoire of Dance, under direction of Mi-cha- le and Tora, announce the opening of summer dance clas-ses as part of the city recrea-tion program to be held at Memorial Hall. Registration for the classes will be Friday May 29, from 10 until 12 noon and from 1 until 2 p.m. at the Memorial Hall. The classes will be in tap, ballet and acrobat covering a period of one hour each week on Friday. Ages for the classes will be from 3 to 17 years and special ballroom instruction is being arranged for the teen-ager- s. The classes will continue through June, July and Aug-ust. There will be a small fee for the three months to cover expense of the hall and equip-ment used. PTA at Mapleton Names Officers New officers were selected at the PTA meeting in Maple-to- n Wednesday night at their last meeting of the season. Juan Whiting was chosen pres-ident and chosen to work with him are Rosella Reiske as vice president and Ruth Hooper, secretary and treasurer. These new officers replace Shirley Marsh, Laveta West-woo- d and Cora Ellis. Chairmen of the different committees gave reports of the year's activities and the PTA organization presented princi-pal Timothy Moran a gift in appreciation of his services to the Mapleton school. Mr. Mor-an has been appointed as prin-cipal of the new school in Spanish Fork. Before retiring the current officers presented the school with a tape recorder, a phono-graph and a projector screen. Vestside School Holds Field Meet Last Thursday May 14, the Westside school held a field meet to see what ribbons they could win in special events. At 11:30 a.m. the first three grades went to the park for a picnic and to play games. The remaining three grades held a field meet.
