Show Nebo School Board Discusses Budget; Appoints Business Manager-Clerk Supt. W. W. Brockbank proposed a budget of $3,266,554 for the school year 1959-60 at the meeting of Nebo District board of education Monday evening at bpanish Fork. A public hearing is to be held June 1 at the school office. of-fice. The Board also favored the appointment of Clarence J. Wendel of Spanish Fork as business manager and assistant superintendent to fill a vacancy vacan-cy resulting from the retirement retire-ment of Ben L. Isaac effective July 1, after reviewing a number num-ber of applications for the job. Other business taken up at the board meeting comprised authorizing the clerk to call for approximately $600,000 in short term tax notes in denominations denom-inations of $100,000 to meet current obligations during the 1959-60 school year with quotations quo-tations to be received at the school office by June 1. The clerk was also authorized authoriz-ed to purchase school supplies needed for next year on quotations quota-tions to be received by June 1. The board also assepted quotations quo-tations for paint for summer work from Chase Lumber Co. of Payson, Jex Lumber Co., Spanish Fork and Kolob Lumber Lum-ber of Springville. Purchase of school lunch items costing approximately 30,000 was also authorized, Mrs. Loa Johnson, supervisor to purchase them on low bids and quality of merchandise. Contractors doing work on the various schools, Hjorth ; Brothers at Sage Creek school ; A. H. Mortensen at Peteetneet and Mortensen at Sage Creek were allowed more money by the board on changes in plans. Payment was also approved for the final phase of the ad-Won ad-Won to the Peteetneet school to Kaze and Gammon, general contractors with exception of ?500 to be retained until the ) is approved.
