Show yjeuA rioted . . . Mrs. Maude Thorn had as her guests Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Payne of Bountiful Bounti-ful and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Boone of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thorn of Salt Lake City spent Saturday night at her home. Mrs. Helen E. DeLude of Concord, Calif., Dr. Hal Eg-gertsen Eg-gertsen and family of Seattle, Wash, and Mr. and Mrs. James A. Simmons and family of Salt Lake were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Eggertsen during the past week. The occasion was in celebration of Mrs. Eggertsens birthday and her return from the Utah Valley hospital where she underwent an operation for removal of cateracts. Mrs. Alice Wilmott has returned re-turned home from San Diego, Calif., where she visited her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Ellsworth (Vera Wilmott) and their new baby son named Randy. A most enjoyable time was spent visiting and seeing the many places of interest in that area. Long Beach. Other places visited visit-ed included San Diego, LaJolla, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. Bar-bara. They toured many places of interest in and near the various cities and at Hollywood Holly-wood attended, 'South Sea Adventures,' Ad-ventures,' on cinemascope. Mrs. Elvin Sumsion in company com-pany with her daughter and son-in-law, Dean and Suzanne S. Andrus and two children enjoyed a week's visit recently in California spending the time with Don and Beverly S. Miller Mil-ler and family at Garden Grove and with Reed and Elsie S. Peery and family at Santa Ana. i Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Harmer were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Eldon R. Henrichsen and family fam-ily of Provo on a pleasant weekend trip to Kanab and Glen Canyon dam, returning by way of Zion National Park. Mrs. Alice Wilmott enjoyed a visit Sunday from her little grandson Lynn Giles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Giles. Mrs. Julia Sumsion returned early this week from Richfield, where she was called because of the serious illness of her sister, Rula Fullenbach, publisher pub-lisher of the Richfield Reaper newspaper, who suffered a heart attack Thursday of last week. Mrs. Fullenbach will be confined to the hospital at least a month, Mrs. Sumsion said. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Johnson honored their son Paul on the occasion of his 20th birthday with a family dinner inviting as special guests Linda James of Provo and also his grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Mary Smart. Mrs. A. W. (Sherrington returned re-turned home Monday evening from Chicago, 111., where she spent two weeks with her daughter, and .son-in-law, Merlin Mer-lin and Jane C. Norton anc family. She made the trip there by plane and returned by train stating that she was glad to get back from the cold weather in that area Mrs. Mark Law had a few neighbors and friends in for a quilting at her home Monday evening and luncheon was served ser-ved to the following: Sarah Weight, Birdie Thorpe, Alta Olsen, Emma Kennedy, Melva Gottfredson, Emma Beardall, Rowena Allan, Jeanie Pierce, Alice Beardall, Lola Weight and Ida Bird. Mrs. Winona Killpack was hostess to Les Jolli Femme club members recently and the group enjoyed a review of the life of the musician Edvard Greg by Mrs. Carol Ottesen assisted as-sisted by Mrs. Carol Clark, who sang selections by the composer. The hostess served lunch at the close of the meeting. meet-ing. Mrs. Viola Allan in company with her niece, Mrs. Elize Crandall of Provo returned Friday from a four weeks vacation va-cation trip to California. Mrs Allan visited her son Kenneth and family at Bakersfield and the two ladies also stayed with a niece, Mrs. Setta Larsen at |
