Show Flash Flood Puts Snow Plow To Work Tuesday The Springville area would have been pleased with a portion por-tion of the rain fall which resulted re-sulted in a flash flood and rock slide on US Highway 50-6 east of Thistle Tuesday afternoon, resulting- in the use of the old winter snow plough. Investigating officers Owen Eeardall, Springville highway patrolman and Patrolman Bob Tasker reported that the slide occured in three places at about 3:30 p.m. stalling about a thousand cars nearly four hours. A bulldozer, grader and snow plough were used by the state road commission to clear the debris and open the highway. high-way. The Springville-Mapleton area only a few miles from the flash-flood site, sweltered in sun which sent the thermometer thermo-meter to between 88 and 98 degrees throughout the afternoon, after-noon, with little hope for even a light shower. |
