The new baby has two sisters and one brother. Mrs. Georgia Plumlee is spending several days in Provo staying with her sister Hazel Bailey who was injured in a fall. Mrs. S. Lavell Bird spent two days in Salt Lake City visiting with her daughter Veon (Mrs. Max Morgan) and her children prior to their leav-ing for Oregon to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Harmer spent Mother's Day in Salt Lake City as guests of their daughter and son-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. Mel Harwood and family. Mr. and Mrs. Blair Binks and children John and Barbara of Bountiful spent Saturday at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Norris T. Binks. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Casper and Mr. and Mrs. Darcy Dove were home for Mother's Day. They visited their mother Mrs. Lilly Hopla who is confined to the Utah Valley Hospital follow-ing surgery. Welcome home services were held for Mrs. Helen Carleton Snow Sunday evening in the Provo Seventh ward. She has recently returned from a mis-sion for the LDS Church in the Spanish American mission with headquarters at San Antonio, Texas. Several families from Mapieton attended the services. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Martin-son were in charge of the cafe-teria supper served in the Mapieton Ward recently to raise funds for the building-project- . Open house was held from five to seven p.m. during which time families and groups of families were served supper at tables cleverly centered with miniature cottages, birds on the nest and apple blossoms. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Clyde and small daughter of Salt Lake City .spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. David Hone. va Dibble, Christine Whiting Glenna Warren, Fern Lisonbee' Miss Fish and Martin Palmer! Speaker for the evening was Dr. Roman Anderson of the BYU. Dr. Paul K. Edmunds was the guent speaker at the Fire Side Chat held in the Mapieton Ward Sunday evening follow-ing sacrament services. Mem-bers of the Mia Maids and the Junior Gleaners and Junior M Men sponsored the meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gividen are happy over the arrival of a new baby girl born at the and all ward members are urg-ed to come and bring their own dishes. The price will be five dollars a plate. The Mapieton Ward MIA cordially invite all members to a weiner roast on the Park on Tuesday, May 19, commencing at 7:30. The dining tab-les were beautiful with spring flowers decorated by Mrs. Nor-ma Canto and Mrs. Norma Mc- Kenzie. President Jack Canto was in charge of the short business meeting which follow-ed lunch in which new officez--s were elected for the coming year. R. G. Mackenzie was cho-sen president; Arthur Harmer and Elmer Larson, vice presi-dents; Hugh Hjorth, tail twist-er; secretary, Jack Canto; lion tamer, William Whiting. Citizens are again reminded of the birthday calendar drive and are urged to cooperate. Motoring from Kearns to spend the weekend at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Banks was their daugh-ter and son-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. Carl Loback. Mrs. Taylor Burt visited in Lindon Friday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Lee who recently moved from Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wil-son and daughter Jerry spent the week end in Mapieton stay-ing at the home of her father, Horace, Perry who has been ill. The Wilsons are now making their home in Brigham City. Also coming to help their father were Mr. and Mrs. John Warner and Mrs. Elda Johnson of Spanish Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Talmage and Mrs. Berniece Douglas and Susan Ellis was honored on her eleventh birthday with a party given by her mother Mrs. Ross Ellis. An afternoon of games followed by refresh-ments was enjoyed by Lola Lisonbee, Mary Ellen Jacobsen, Susan Burt, Phpllis Jackson, Linda Kay Tippetts, Vicki Hooper, Merriette Diamond and Tony Miguel. Janet and Pamela Boyd of Salt Lake City have spent sev-eral days visiting with their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Les-ter Hansen. Mrs. Virginia Hall is home after a delightful visit with her daughter and son-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. Verl Taylor of Bur-ban- k, Calif. Mrs. Mabel Hopla in com-pany with her son Harold and his wife of Provo spent a weekend in Las Vegas visiting with her daughter and son-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Jones and young daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Johnson were visited by their daughters Norma and Mae and their fam-ilies over the Mother's Day weekend. They both live in Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Durrant, Ollerton and children, Mrs. John Gustin and two daugh-ters, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Harris and family. Frank A. Bleggi, airman, TJSN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bleggi, R.F.D., is serv-ing aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS Ranger in the Western Pacific. The ranger is currently oper-ating with the U. S. Seventh Fleet off Japan and Formosa, (Providing air striking might to this country's first line of de-fense in that part of the world, fJetvA rioted . . . Paul Thorn and son Louis went by plane to Oxnard, Cali-fornia for the christening of the new baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Arbon (June Thorn) who was given the name Wendy. Mrs. Thorn spent over two weeks with the Ar-bo-and children returning home the latter part of last week. Mrs. Grace McKenzie enjoy-ed a visit from her son and daughter-in-law- , Mr. and Mrs. W. A. (Billie) McKenzie who came from Seattle, Wash., last week. They planned also to visit relatives in Salt Lake. Visiting at the home of Mrs. Estella Ollerton on Mothers Day Sunday were: Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Ollerton of Moab, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Husberg. Mapieton Jaycees Elect Officers The Mapieton Jaycees have elected new officers for the coming year. Chosen for presi-dent is Quinten Lowe and working with him will be Ken-neth Harmer, first vice presi-dent; past president Wave Mi-guel, state director. Directors will be Bob Daley, Neno Antonino, Alfred Stringer and Fred Medved. Special guests were state president Carman Kipp, nation-al director, Glen Swalzburg; state vice president. Glen Dan-iels and Gene Walker froc Delta.
