Stan Roberts and Bob Chambers Young Democrats Condemn Party Political Apathy Dear Editor: We should like to pay tribute to the Utah County Democratic Party for the preparation and execution of a fine political rally last Saturday at North Park in Provo. Unfortunately, their efforts were not largely appreciated by members of the party and citizens of Utah County. We feel it was an insult to Mr. Elliot Roosevelt and the state and county candidates in attendance. at-tendance. They were there so that Utah County voters might meet them and thereby form opinions in order to intelligently intelligent-ly express their choices in the coming primary election. -We think it was fine that about 300 people were good enough to attend, but where were the ether 4,700 or more who should have been there? The Democrats have the slogan, slo-gan, "This Is Our Year," but if we're not careful we will find ourselves in the same position the "Grand Old Party" did just ten years ago . . . when Governor Gover-nor Thomas E. Dewey went to bed as "Mr. President," and woke up a political has-been. It is up to us to prevent this sad mistake in this 1958 election elec-tion byarming ourselves with the facts, uniting behind the truth, and presenting it enthusiastically en-thusiastically to our friends an neighbors.
