Show Smelit the 31a.atoloil. .. A correspondent writing to the j Chicago Tribune says: "A number of years ago the bones of a mastodon were found in a swampy farm near Three Oaks, Mich. The university was notified, and some men came to disinter the 'remains. I was standing stand-ing next to the old farmer who owned the land, when it suddenly occurred oc-curred to him that he could throw light c.n the subject , and he remarked: re-marked: 'Waal, naouw, I thought I smelt somethin' last summer when I was daoun here plowin'.'
