Mr. Stahmann has e bottom, and he asserts that the rich ore will go from $600 to $2500 at the most conservative estimate. Some of tn the ore, he says, will go $10,000 ton. gold to the On Tuesday, J. J. Fagan, fiscal the Granite Contact comof agent received a sack of samples pany, from Mr. Fountain, and some of them show free gold in great abundance. During the week many interested ofpersons have called at Mr. Fagan s richness the remarked upon fice and of the ore. In fact, Granite Contact has been one of the principal topics of conversation this week. An assay made from one of the second-ratsamples yesterday at the Gorrlil, Milward ft Gorrlll office went $1,004 in gold, the ore not being asSuperintendent sayed for sliver. Fountain says that the ore now coming from the drift is so much better than the ore sent over Tuesday that there is no comparison. The company has been sacking ore from the Gold Bird drift since work was started three weeks ago. According to Superintendent Fountain, the ore sacked up to last week averaged $363 in gold to the ton. The vein la now four and a half feet in width, and outside of the way-ustreak the values are not under $25, which makes the entire ledge a high grade proposition. On the company's vast estate, which comprises eight locations in a group, fifteen ledges have been opened in the granite that show commercial values. The showing on which the original ground was purchased have all shown improvement with development, and several new and equally rich veins have since been exposed. The crosscut tunnel on Contact No. 5. will probably reach the big ledge within a month or six weeks, strike is and another satisfactory then expected. This ledge was prospected to a depth of 60 feet where it Is strong and well mineralized and of permahas all the indications nency, and has been opened at intervals for 700 feet on the Burfare. The tunnel will have about 300 feet of depth when it encounters the ledge. This crosscut may also be continued to reach the new silver ledge which returns as high as 1000 ounces ia silver. Work on the property at present Is being confined to three tunnels. Inter-Mountal- n p, k,d. PU5H RAKES and stacke McCormick Machii t0Pr I Iu,c been before .he public for .he fos.
