Show I Ban on Roosters Crow at Capital w HE now chicken and pigeon ordin I THE ance recently promulgated at Washlnton will bo rigidly enforced by tho health department of that city In squares with moro than 75 per cent of the property Improved permits will bo necessary i While It will bo necessary to havo I a permit to keep chickens It will require re-quire the special consideration and approval of neighbors to keep a chanticleer chan-ticleer Before he Is allowed to bo stir tho neighborhood In the morning with his vocal serenades his owner must have tho consent of tho householders house-holders In tho neighborhood especially especial-ly those who object to his being used as n rising alarm Persons desiring to keep fowls within with-in tho fire limits of the district must file an application with tho health office setting forth the lot number square number and tho street number of tho premises where It is desired to keep the chickens or pigeons No provisions pro-visions are made for ducks or geese In case the applicant has one or moro roosters in his flock there must bo filed with the chicken application a list of householders in tho same square who consent to tho keeping of the early morning rIserIn fact a majority of the householders must consent Chanticleers will have full sway outside out-side tho fire limits according to tho regulations The same will bo the case within tho fire limits whero tho property Improved is less than 75 percent per-cent The regulations In substance aro as follows No chickens are to be kept within the fire limits without a permit from tho health department and then not within 25 feet of any structure owned by any person other than the applicant appli-cant and used for human habitation occupation or assembly Outside the lire limits fowls or pigeons cannot bo kept within 50 feet of any structure aforesaid subject however to tho exceptions ex-ceptions set forth In paragraph four No fowls shall bo permitted to runny run-ny or stray within GO feet of any such structure |
