Mr. Leavitt Is a pioneer in that country, he being one of the locators of the Inyo. He developed with good ore from the grass roots. Shorty Harris Brings Good Skidoo News. Shorty Harris, who Is here from Skidoo this week, has given the Herald the following news Item regarding the Wild Rose mining properties: A New York syndicate has taken an option on the Cashier property until December 1 for $300, 0OO, and since this option was given a prominent Rhyolite operator, whose name Mr. Harris does not care to makp public at this time, has made a handsome cash offer for the property, after making a careful sampling of the same. T. E. Crawford, the controlling factor In the Cashier, has planned extensive work, and has received a portion of the necessary equipment and supplies. He is working a force of men, but will not Increase the force until the matter of selling out Is settled. The Skidoo shaft, which is down 110 feet, Is penetrating 15 feet of solid ore. which Mr. Harris says. Is all high grade. One may stand at the landing of the shatt and as the bucket of ore comes up, see the free gold In the quarftz. It Is great ore, indeed," Is the way Shorty speaks of the showing. Spanish Fork people have Just sent an order for all the treasury Btock offered for sale by this company, whose head quarters are at Rhyolite, Nevada. This property is located In what is known as the Emigrant Springs country ln the Panamlnt Range, on the west side of Death Valley In Ilnyo County, California, and adjoining the famous Skidoo property, which la reported to be the biggest gold mine that baa yet been discovered on the desert so far as surface indication show, and that is now being extensively developed by Chas. Schwab and associates. There are also quite a number of Spanish Forkers who are heavily interested in the Inyo Gold Mining company, located In the Funeral Range on this side of Death Valley, that Is also reported to be one of the coming big gold mines of that country. We are glad to see the people here getting In on the ground floor in some of the good prospects in this new, but wonderfully rich gold country, which has the ear marks of becoming the wonder of the age , when the proper amount of development is attained and which is now being carried on In that country, according to all reports, at about as rapid & gait as has ever been known in a new country. R. E. Collet, who has been down in that country from the time of its distwo covery until within the last months, says he was at the Inyo mine when they had a shaft, on the ledge, down 65 feet and that the ledge was about fourteen feet wide and averaged at that time about $24.00 per ton, and that every pound of the ledge matter Is ore and free gold can be panned from any part of the vein. He says he thinks the owners here showed good judgment when they recently turned down an offer of $1.50 per share for the stock owned here, which places a valuation on the property of one and one half million dollars. He also says that he beueves by the time they have as much development done on the Granite Contact as they have on the Inyo, that it will be worth fully a much. If not more than the Inyo Is at the present time, as they have much higher values in the cropping than the Inyo had. In -l- . Eczema and Pile Cure Free . : AT TIIE Young Mens PACK BROS.
