Sale of the control of the Continental Continen-tal Life Insurance company of thia eity to John W. Cooper, president of the Piorjcer Life Insurance company of Kansas City, Mo., and associates, Tvas completed here yesterday, according to Mr. Cooper. The concern, Mr. Cooper snvs. has assets totaling $2,500,000 and more than 623,000,000 of insurance in force. The transaction was negotiated for the company by Ernest E. 'Woolley, who eontinu?s, Mr. Cooper says, as a large stockholder. The deal is in no wav designed to change the service of the company, other than to expand it more comprehensively through Utah and the six surrounding- states in which it has been admitted to do business, according to Mr. Cooper. ' As a result of the transfer of control con-trol a meeting of the directors is scheduled for today for reorganization of the directorate. Mr. Cooper, who, it is understood, is to become president and general manager, will make his home in this eity and take direct charge of the company's extensive affairs. af-fairs. Its possibilities for swift and substantial growth under a regime of vigorous managensent, he savs, are what attracted himself and associates to purchase the control as a business venture. Those associated with Mr. Cooper in taking over the majority stock of the Continental company are Joe YV. Kemper, chairman of the board of directors di-rectors of the National Ban of Commerce Com-merce and the Commerce Trust company com-pany of Kansas City; A. L.
