Show I Large Tea Given ! at Dinwoodey Home MHS. LEROY DINWOODEY and Mrs. Frank- W. Jennings wdre hostesses hos-tesses at a large tea yesterday afternoon af-ternoon at the Dinwoodey home on North State street. Two hundred guests called between the hours of 4 and 6 o'clock. The drawing room was decorated in a variety of fall flowers. The tea table had a dainty centerpiece of shell pink snapdragons and narcissus. A pink and white effect was carried out in the refreshments. re-freshments. Presiding at the tea table were Mrs. Heber M. Wells. Mrs. W. Mont Ferry. Mrs. J. W. Rooklidge and Miss Edna Dwyer. A number of young girls assisted as-sisted in serving. Delta Epsilon sorority will entertain at their annual banquet this evening at the Newhouse hotel. The committee on arrangements ar-rangements includes Miss Drusilla Gaby, Miss Margaret Marshall and Miss Ruth Wiscomb. Mrs. Parley P. Jenson will entertain in the second of a series of afternoon parties Saturday at her home on Douglas avenue. Miss Josephine Stookey and Miss Afton Booth will entertain at a dancing-party Friday evening at the Country club. , $ The University club will celebrate Thanksgiving eve with a dancing party at the clubrooms. St. Ann's Sewing circle will meet this afternoon at the Holy Cross hospital. Mrs. William C. McDonald will entertain the Cleofan this afternoon. Mrs. W. D. Riter will discuss "German Intrigue and the Russian Collapse of 1915." The Oliver O. Howard Woman's Relief corps will meet this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the K. P. hall for annual inspection. in-spection. Officers and members of the corps will meet at 12:30 o'clock in a preliminary pre-liminary session. Roger Corfield of London. England, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Milner at their home on Second avenue. Mrs. Clara Woodruff Deebe. accom-papied accom-papied by her daughter, Miss Ruth Beebe. and Miss Helen Claire Daynes, has gone to Pocatello to spend. Thanksgiving and the week following with her daughter, Mrs. E. Byers. Mrs. Jay Hyde and three children of Phoenix, Ariz., are guests of Mrs. Hyde's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Parsons. They will remain until after the first of the year. Mr. Hyde will join them for Christmas. Mrs. Albert Fisher left yesterday for southern California to spend the remainder remain-der of the winter. Mrs. Kenneth Luman and little daughter daugh-ter will be at home at the Hotel Fifth East for the winter. Ferrold A. Eccles will leave the latter part of the week for AVashington, D. C.J where he will attend the George Washington Wash-ington universitv. Mrs. Mary Treweek has returned from a six months' visit to Chicago and different dif-ferent parts of Illinois and Indiana. J. Frank Judge will arrive today from San Francisco to spend Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Cowans. Mrs. Judge has been a guest at the Cowans home for the past month, and will return with Mr. Judge. W. i. Halloran and daughter, Mrs. Eewis William Sowles, have arrived home from a month's visit to New York. Mian Florence Halloran, who accompanied them, remained in Omaha for a visit to Mrs. Charles Louis Meyer, formerly Miss Mary Luman, of this city. v Unity society will meet this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the K. of P. hall. Mrs. E. P. Le Compte and family of Park City are at home at 950 East First South street, this city, for the winter. Visitors Honored at Dancing - Party a DANCING party was given by Mr. and Mrs. John Y. Rich at their home on East South Temple street last night in honor of Dr. and Mrs. Frank Spenoer of New York, who are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel S. Spencer. The reception re-ception room was decorated in red roses and chrysanthemums. The supper table in the dining room had a basket of yellow yel-low chrysanthemums as a centerpiece. Assisting in receiving the guests were Mrs. Charles Crismon and Mrs. Louise Main. Assisting In the dining room were Mrs. John Dunn, Mrs. Charles Cain Crismon, Cris-mon, Miss Katherine Spencer and Miss Edith Wells. The guests numbered fifty. The marriage of Miss Carolyn Schiller and Nathan Bloom of Tacoma, Wash., will take place this afternoon at 5:30 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Schiller on Sixth East street. Dr. William Rice will perform the ceremony in the presence of relatives. A wedding dinner will follow ' for the weddin? party and a large reception recep-tion will be given this evening. Miss Marjorie Burg of Long Beach, will , be bridesmaid, and Herbert M. Schiller, brother of the bride, best man. The marriage of Miss Thalia Coffman and Dr. Harry Gurnsey will take place this evening at S o'clock at the home of the bridegroom on East First South street. The members of the bridal party will be Miss Mary Beatie. maid of honor, and Miss Blanche Beesley, Miss Norma Kent and Miss Agnes Snow, bridesmaids. Dr. John Wilson will be best man and little lit-tle Virginia Coffman will be the flower girl. The wedding of Miss Gladys Hatch and Lynn G. Bywater will take place this evening at S o'clock at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abram Hatch, on North First West street. The ceremony will be performed by Bishop Alvon Beesley. A reception will follow. Miss Blanche Walsh and Victor. Hill-stead Hill-stead will be married today in the Salt Lake temple. A reception will be given this evening at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. an Mrs. Henry Walsh, S37 East Seventeenth South street. Miss May Duckworth will be bridesmaid. ' Invitations have been issued by Mrs. Robert C. Gemmell and Mrs. Fisher Harris Har-ris for a reception to be given Friday afternoon from 4 until 6 o'clock on the roof garden of the Hotel Utah. A Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Snyder will entertain enter-tain at Thanksgiving dinner at the University Uni-versity club Thursday evening in honor of Mrs. 'E. P. LeCompte. who has arrived from Park City to make her home in Salt Lake for the winter. I $ Mrs. Charles Chapel entertained at luncheon yesterday at the Hotel Utah in honor of Mrs. Edmund Stayner of Boston. A mound of American Beauty roses was the centerpiece for the table. In addition io the guest of honor covers were laid for Mrs. Louis Hess, Mrs. Truman Shell, Mrs. Edward McCune. Mrs. Melton King and Mrs. Howard Cushing. I Mrs. Parley Eccles entertained Monday evening at her home on Blair street in honor of Gerrold A. Eccles who will leave the latter part of the week to attend the George Washington university at Washington, Wash-ington, D. C The evening was spent in music and games. Assisting the hostess was Mrs. Andrew Eccles. The guests I numbered twelve. j The Sigma Phatan club was entertained 1 Monday evening by Miss Lily Wolsten- holme, at her home, 1422 South Main street. The decorations were jn red roses. A late supper was served. Arrangements were made for a dancing party to be given as an opening series by the club Saturday evening at the home of Miss I Jennie Larson, 665 Eleventh East street.
