Spicer, attorney, at-torney, from the same place, returned yesterday yes-terday from a trip of Inspection of several Reaver county mining properties. All of the party were greatly Improved with the mineral resources of tho district. "The oro which la being taken out and which la being opened up with every shot indicates in-dicates that this property will soon become be-come one of the big producetH of the etate. Samples of silver chloride are being be-ing a-ked which will run up into tho hundreds of ounces of silver per ton." Vein Opens Into Chambers. The. Gold Crown mine has been attracting attract-ing considerable, attention fur some time. Too vein, will -h dips to tho west about ' 45 degrees, has been fol lowed down with an incli tied shaft almost to the 400-foot lovel. With depth the vein seems to bo increasing In sizo and values, according to Mr. Keynoldis. This vein, which is a bedded formation from four to eight feet wldu, In places wlduns out into chambers. At present operations consist of cross-cutting cross-cutting and drifting on tho ore. Regular shipments are being made, it is said. At the Capitol mine the shaft, which Is being sunk on a largo fissure vein of hematite of iron in the lime, is meeting with encouraging conditions, according to Mr. Reynolds. Crosscut ting of the vein has been begun on the 260-foot level. At this depth u vera go samples of the ore thov values of $1.4 per ton, it is said. The management plans to raise on the-iron the-iron ore on tho 260-foot level and also to make another crosscut on the 150 -foot level. Vein System Extensive. A syndicate of Long Peach business men has secured control of the Humboldt property, a group of five claims, which lt"s between the Gold Crown and the Capitol Capi-tol mines. It Is said. Surface indications of a most extensive nature exist on this property. A largo copper vein with iron outcrops parii lle'fl tho lead -si Ivor veins, which in this district generally take a northeast -south west direction. Outcrops of hematite, of iron ten feet in width are found In several places, according to Mr. Reynolds. Some prospecting has been done on the Humholdt by tile trench system. A shipment ship-ment consisting of four carloads of ore taken from a shaft sixty feet deep averaged av-eraged ?25 per ton, it is said. H is the plan of the new company to start development devel-opment as soon tn possible by sinking a vertical shaft. Ores taken from the Gold Crown, the Capitol and the Humboldt are in great demand by local smelters because of their excellent smelt ing qualities. Kven the high-grade ores taken from the Gold Crown contain a high percentage of hematite hema-tite of iron, according to Mr. Reynolds. Mr. Julian and Mr. Snicer, both of whom are interested in the Humboldt mine, left for Long Beach. Cal.. yesterday. |
