Show FORMER SILT LAKER sraKiii Archibald Stewart Geddes Dies of Stroke at His Preston, Ida., Home. V Word has boon received from Preston, Pres-ton, Idaho, of the death and burial in that city of Archibald Stewart Geddes, a native of T'tah, and for many years prominent in business, political and civic circles in Salt JjHke. Twenty-live years a;d Mr. Geddes was connected with .Harton & Co. on upper Alain street. Jn 1S04 he was elected as one of the commissioners of Salt Lake county and served for two years. He was renominated, being a Kopublican, but went down to defeat in the Bryan landslide in 1S!)G. Later Mr. Geddes was employed for some time on The Tribune. About twenty years ao lie removed to La Grande, Ore., where he was interested in mercantile pursuits at the time of his death. Some months ap;o Mr. Geddes went to Worland, Wyo., as the representa tive of a big- oil company. While in Worland, eifjht weeks af,'o. he suffered a stroke of paralvsis and was removed ; to the home of liis sister, Mrs. George H. larver, at Preston. Sunday he suf- fered a second, stroke, which resulted! in his death. Funeral services were held at Preston Pres-ton Wednesday. The speakers were j George 11. Carver.
