REQUEST FDR ADDED BELIEMS DENIED Industrial Board Turns Down Applications, Declaring De-claring Payment Made. Two cases of application for additional compensation under the Utah workmen's compensation act have been turned dove by formal decision of the industrial commission com-mission of Utah, on the ground that the app! leant had already been fully paid. James C. Woods, an employee of the F. C. Richmond Machinery company, which was insured In the United States Fidelity & Guaranty company, was injured in-jured on the ankle September 10. 10iS. -Compensation was pa;d for thirty-two weeks at the rate of ?:'.7T, and hospital and medical fees also were paid, although the man was at first treated for rheumatism, rheuma-tism, before another physician discovered that the trouble probaoly originated with , the Injury. The man was employed most of the ! time he was receiving compensation, in another occupation, though in this occupation occu-pation members of his family were able to -carry on part of his work for him. The commission found, however, that he had not accepted the advice of his : physician for treatment to remove the cause of the pain now complained of, and, I while he is s'-:;Tering slight partial dis- 1 ability, he has been fully compensated ; for the Injury. The evidence in the case of Frank i Quinlan, an employee of the American ; Asphalt association, who was -injured i March 2i, 19! &, led the commission to I believe that he is now suffering from tubercular activity, rather than from the result of his accident, and that he has been fully compensated for his injuries, which Included permanent injury to four fingers of the right hand. The Maryland Casualty company paid compensation up to March 9 of this year. ! John Saban was granted a rehearing by j order of the commission, having claimed a misunderstanding of his privileges at the former hearing. The commission expressly ex-pressly refuses to pass on the q jest ion of whether there was any such misunder- stand in rf, but expresses a desire to hear I the full facts In the case. .... t'?
