Show Manv Brides Choose July as Time of Weddings MR. AND MRS. S. A. WHITNEY of Salt Lake announce the engagement en-gagement of their daughter Katnryu to Thomas Kcarns, Jr. The wedding will take place in the near future. Miss Whitney is a- prominent member mem-ber of the younger society set of the city, and Mr. Kcarns is ;t son of the late United States Senator Thomas Kearns and Mrs. Kcarns, of Salt Lake. One of the interesting announcements of the month is that of the engagement of Miss Mabel Parker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Parker of Hinckley, to Jay H. Stockman. The wedding will take place in August. Both Miss Parker and Mr. Stockman are well known in the city. Miss Parker was a member of the 1918 graduating grad-uating class from the University of Utah, and Mr. Stockman is Utah alumnus, alum-nus, a member of Phi Delta Thcta fra-ternit-, and a prominent attorney in tho city. The bride is a member of Alpha Chi sorority of the university, and also of Sigma Thcta Phi at the Agricultural Agricul-tural College of Utah, " wheroy she has been a teacher for the past year. "Mrs. Annctto Hertell announces the engagement of her daughter, Ariola Olive, to Albert M. Daly. The wedding will take place early in August. The marriage of Miss Louise May 1 Cutler and Daniel James O'Loughlin took place Thursday at tho homo of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John C. Cutler, Jr., 1S1 E street. The ceromony was performed at 7 o'clock, and was I followed by a large reception. Mrs. Hyrum S. Erickson was matron of honor, and Miss Sarah Harris was bridesmaid. Little Miss Susie Hammer Ham-mer sly carried the riug, and Little Evelyn Weyhcr was flower girl. Hyrum S. Erickson was best mau. The couple will spend their honeymoon honey-moon at Bear lake, and will later bo at their new home on South Fourteenth East. Miss Merl McMillan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David A. McMillan of Muv- i ray, and Harry Arthur Robbing were j married Tuesday noori at the Hotel Utah. The ceremony was performed by professor Levi Edgar Young in the reception re-ception room of the president's suite. A wedding breakfast followed in the banquet-room of the hotel. Miss Lyle Cahoon and Miss Madge Howe were bridesmaids, and Jarcd W. Summerhays i was best man. After a short honeymoon the couple will be at homo to their friends at Murray. Miss Hazel Olfen and Henry J. Lof-gran Lof-gran were married Wednesday afternoon after-noon in the Salt Lake temple. A wed-j wed-j ding supper was served in the evening at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Olson, on West Sixth South street. Tho couplo will make their home in Los Angeles. Miss Beth Timpsou and Kyle McMillan Mc-Millan were married Wednesday at noon in the Salt Lake temple, and a reception recep-tion was given in the evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Sharp entertained enter-tained at a party at Saltair, Wednesday evening in honor of the members of the Ladies' Social Red Cross auxiliary and their partners. Supper was served and dancing enjoyed later in the evo- ning. The guests numbered fourteen. r Miss Cleora Pyper entertained at a f dinner and dance Friday evening, at her r home on Fifth avenue. A large cut-glass cut-glass .bowl of pink sweet peas on a cluny cover over orange satin formed the centerpiece for the dinner table. Yellow and pink streamers were arranged ar-ranged from the chandelier to the corners cor-ners of the table. Dancing was enjoyed on the lawn, which was decorated with gaily colored lights.
