Show U.S. TO ASSIST , ALLIED NATIONS J. David Larson Tells of Steps Taken at International Interna-tional Conference. XothiuK was demonstrated with more force at the International Trade conference con-ference in Atlantic City than the -willingness of the I'nited States to extend the helping hand to her war-worn, allies, al-lies, according to J. David Larson, formerly for-merly secretary of the Commercial club, who returned to Salt Lake yesterday yes-terday after attending the conference and the convention of Commercial club secretaries held at Indianapolis. Although he was recently selected for the position as commissioner for the Omaha chamlor of commerce, he said he would continue his duty a3 Commercial club secretary until tho vacancy had been filled. Four thousand representative business busi-ness men were present at the trade conference, Mr. Larson said. Steps were taken to aid the allies of America Amer-ica not only in a financial way, but through selling them surplus American manufactures. That the solution' of the high .cost of living lies in the boycotting of goods' held at exhorbitan't figures was the belief be-lief expressed at the conference and is the consensus tof opinion in the east, Mr. Larson said. "Housing facilities everywhere are scarce. People arc living in tents in Detroit, Omaha and Indianapolis and eastern hotels are 'turning people away by the hundreds, he declared.
