While the situation In the Kanawnha coal field is gradually Improving, the New River mining district Is hrlng swept by a nij strlk1 of miners, according to reports re-ports rcpved tonight bv both operators and officials of the Cnlted Mine Worker. Ninety five per cent of the mines are operating In the Kanawaha fields, according ac-cording to a statement Issued by the Kanawaha coal opTa tors' association. The working force at these mines, it was said, was about AO per cent of normal.
