Show BREAKING INTO PRINT. Confessing total ignorance of the actual ac-tual situation, we are led to believe that there is some sort of traction controversy contro-versy on at Portland, Ore. Our information on the matter is gleaned entirely from a little "want ad" appearing iu the Portland Ore-gonian. Ore-gonian. Here it is: WANTED Actors to play in the Portland tranion comedy. Cine buck passer, to represent the public service commission; one liiihtv.'i'ignt throe-in-one ir.un to represent tho public; one tingle shooter, to represent the compiiny; also underdoes, under-does, puhlicans and skid sreasers. HC 14 1, Oregonlan. A humorist, undoubtedly, was he who wrote that little "liner"; a humorist, we should say, given to satire. Perhaps Per-haps it was penned by one who, having failed to find a means of airing his views through news columns, takes this method of "breaking into print." Whatever the actuating motive and whatever the frame of mind of him who inserted the "ad," it strikes us that it is a neat litile hit, ami no doubt it will cause much merriment among the good people of Portland who are familiar with conditions there. |
