| Show TO IM amm they are advised to organize A N IS ISSUED by the of the utah state society after a running discussion of nearly two years duration it waa decided by all interested thai the different agricultural interests would be best served by forming one strong agricultural society out ol 01 the many in ex with this end in view at an adjourned meeting of those interested bield in salt lake city on october ath the utah state agricultural society was formed to quote from the con ution the object of this society shall be first to encourage the general development ef the agricultural resources of utah second to promote trade by producing a better and more uniform articia in larger quantities third to promote the social wall fare of the agriculturists of utah the organization is dimply a banding together of by farmers is meant all interested in agriculture in any of these bra for the common good of all the matter of most pressing im cortence por tence at the present time is legislation and it juat so happens first state legislature will be called upon to deal largely with the farming interests ro the farmers know what is best to be done and what is best not to bs done in regard to th following topics alst the confirmation of water rights that have accrued and 2nd alie establishing of new water rights ard 3rd the proper protection of forests ath the disposition of lands ath the rights of the settlers already on the fichtol lands ath location and disposition of the lands that will come to the public institution ath the lands that will come to thia state through the caroy act ath the sheep and general stock inspection laws ath the bee inspection law tha fruit tre spraying and inspection laws alth filled and akim milk cheese the and its effects on the butter trade the state fair the state of our agriculture and the general supervision of all agricultural ri interests let all agriculturists in utah look buist last over a sd see if they understand the different topics remembering that whatever is done or whatever 13 neglected in mailers me farmer will have to pay for in the end it ia designed that every county throughout the territory shall organize an agricultural society which shall be a branch of tho state society and inasmuch as it ia the intentions of th committee to call a meeting of the state association during the holidays when lew rates ara in vogue we would suggest and earnestly solicit the agriculturists of each county to organize orga nizo these branch societies immediately and arrange to send as many representatives as possible to our state meeting in december the committee deem it exceedingly important that our agricultural interests should also be largely represented in our next legislature we further te urge in the possible way organization throughout the territory every other business every trade is organized all of the agriculturists of utah are cordially invited to become members and join in the work of bettering their own conditions will come one take the lead in each county and organize 1 the county branches of the state society for further information address any of the undersigner undersigned under signed A A MILLS pres lugan utah HEBER BENNION vice pres taylorsville Taylors ville PHILLIP A dix sec and freaa salt lake executive committee |
