Show IL C I 1 A politics in their ses sian today to day S T R A W G E they are broucht up to favor the kon paving an unusually interesting of the U 0 T A was held today at the parker school house the lecturers were dr J E talmage at the university of utah and miss holton of the salt lake city schools misa holton was the first speaker she delivered a highly interesting and instructive lecture on teaching reading in the primary grades at the conclusion of the lecture something not down on the program occurred which created considerable of a sensation mr clarence of springville Spring ville brother of bupt supt christeneen and also a member of the teachers executive committee moved to suspend the regular order of business and hear a set of resolutions prepared by tho executive committee the motion carried and mr another member of the executive committee read a rabid beet of resolutions denouncing tho enquirer for articles alleged to have been published derogatory to bupt supt christeneen and the schools of the county the convention waa for a momen staggered ered recovering from the surprise it wa alkek by mr jensen that the objectionable article referred to bo read but the committee wa not prepared with the articles and come remarks urging that the articles should be read were made by prof rees he was of the opinion that the revolutions were overdrawn and might be looked upon aa having a political significance bupt supt Christen sens brother replied to mr bees mr sorensen of provo moved that the resolutions be tabled pending the procuring of the objectionable articles carried an adjournment was taken for department part ment work dr talmage lecturing on the teaching of domestic science before the higher grades and misa hoi ton before the lower grade teachers when reconvening in general cession dr talmage resumed his scientific remarks the resolutions where then taken up after discussion they went over for one week every one is condemning the resola |
