Show SIMDnl LEAD HIE GROWSJN FIR Indications Are That Property Prop-erty Will Take Lead Among1 Producers, The Simon lead property, situated twenty-two miles east of Mlna, is developing de-veloping Into one of the greatest lead properties ever discovered In the state, says the Tonopah (Nev.) Daily Times. Mark H. Page, superintendent of the Manhattan Consolidated Mines company, is authority for this statement. Mr. Page, accompanied by C. C. Boak, who Is Interested in the mine with W. J. "Douglass of Tonopah, visited the property prop-erty last Sunday and made an inspection of the workings, and at the conclusion expressed himself in no uncertain terms concerning the magnitude of the proposition. proposi-tion. The ore carries lead and zinc, with a small percentage of silver, and development develop-ment Is being carried forward diligently with highly satisfactory results. The property has been equipped with a 25-horsepower 25-horsepower Fairbanks-Morse gasoline hoist, as well as a three-drill Sullivan compressor. It Is planned to lower the shaft, which has a present depth of 30O iet, and the installation of equipment has alreadv been completed, with everything every-thing in readiness for the proposed work being started. O. K. Sehiffncr. well-known mining man. formerly of Tonopah, is In charge of the work. On the 230-foot level of the Simon mine the ledge is thirty-five feet wide and will average $25 a ton In lead and zinc. On the 3(0-foot level the ledge has widened considerably of late, and Mr. Simon says the product will average about the same as on the 230 level, so far as values are concerned. Mr. Page says that the ore is the cleanest he has seen and that there is apparently no waste material. |
