Show ' ; l H-BOLUI PLOT HIED American Secret Service Lays Bare Evidences of German Duplicity. (Xew York Times Cable Copyright.) GEXKYA, March 8. Further sensational sensation-al revelations in connection with Kurt Eisner's declaration at Berne a short time before his dUh that tho German general stai'f was still secretly maintaining relations rela-tions with JL.enine's government are foreshadowed fore-shadowed by the announcement that the American secret service has discovered the existence of a Gorman-Bolshevik plot against tlie entente. It is still impossible to disclose all the details of thi;j new conspiracy, which once more reveals the duplicity of the Germans, but from the information received here, it appears that a secret agreement was concluded con-cluded several months ago between the Gertnan general staff, represented by Von Hindenburg and the soviet rulers in Moscow Mos-cow by ihc terms of which the Bolsheviki engaged to undertake a vigorous offensive against Poland early in the spring. The Germans undertook to attack (he Poles simultaneously and actually launched their offensive several weeks ago, but their plans were frustrated by the energetic intervention of the allies, which caused a storm of disappointed fury in Germany. By letting loose the Bolsbeviki against the Poles, the German general staff hoped iu the first place, to keep Posen in the German empire. It calculated further that the military operations would revive the fighting spirit of the Germans and promote pro-mote recruiting for tho German army. Finally, it was expected that the menace of the Bolshevist invasion would intimidate intimi-date the allies and intluence them to grant to Germany easier terms and send her food and raw materials. |
