Show MAYOR THANKS THE VIRGINIA RED CROSS An appreciation of tbe hospitalit.v shown to the Salt Lake and Utah men entertaincl by the Richmond chapter of tho Red Cross on passing through Richmond, Rich-mond, Va., on their return from .service, was expressed yestonlay by Mayor Ferry in a letter directed tn the chapter. The text of the letter follows: "The returning soldiers nnd sailors of Utah, and especially of al Lake City, havo called my attention to the hospitality and patriotic, devotion of the women of your chapter in minister-ing minister-ing to tho wants of our boys. 'Thcse boys of ours who fun e been tho beneficiaries of the efforts of your splendid women speak from their hearts and have asked me to tell you how we hero in Suit Lake City appreciate what you have done. Many, many thousands of discharged men and thoso about to be discharged pass through your eitv. The service required to meet tbe needs of these heroes is a sevore tax upou the energy of your members, yet I am told and am fully eoinvinced that patriotic devotion has not lagged, nor have vou grown weary with well doing.
