Show A. R. Bain and C. E, Wharton Whar-ton Tie for High Gun in Amateur Class. The Salt Lake Gun club drew out its usual large crowd at the regular Sunday shoot held yesterday and some remarkable remark-able scores were made. A. R. Bain and C. E. Wharton tied for high-gun honors fur the day among the amateurs, with the scores of 4S out of 50. Both shot in exceptional form and between them carried car-ried off most of the prizes on the program. pro-gram. . j .In the professional class, Don Morrison i of the Peters Cartridge company and D. N. Hood, representing the Remington Anns company, tied for high gun on, the first fifty targets, each smashing j fifty straight. Don Morrison continued' I to shoot and broke 09 out of 100. In the class A medal event, C. K. Wharton Whar-ton won with the excellent score of 48 out of 50. Wharton, however, "-was pushed to tile limit in order to win, as Aft Nelson Nel-son of Bingham, Ernie Ford of Osden and D. J. Holohan of Salt Lake were close up for second place, and tied with scores of 47 out of 50. A. R. Bain was the sensation among the class B shooters. He walked away with everything that wras hot nailed down. He won the class B medal event with the brilliant score, of 4S out of 50 and the "spoon shoot" event by breaking break-ing 23 targets straight. Pie then rubbed it into both classes by winning the directors' di-rectors' long-run medal event with 33 straight breaks. Art Nelson was second with31 straight. Ernie Ford was third, smashing 26 straight. Bert Bailey came fourth with 27 straight smashes. Morrison Wins Medal. The challenge medal event was won by Don Morrison. In this event twelve shooters tied, with their handicaps, with 5 out, of 25. In the shoot-off a real battle took place between Morrison a.nd Wharton, after all the other competitors had been shot out. Morrison won when Wharton missed his twenty-sixth bird. The Ford tOO-bird trophy was won by C. E. Wharton with the excellent score of 9b out of a possible 100. In the doubles Charley Reilley did some excellent shooting by breaking 47 targets out of 23 pairs. Ernie Ford broke 21 out of 12 pairs and Dennis Holohan accounted for 19 out of 12 pairs. McGanney Tries Hand. F. j. McGanney of the Hercules Powder Pow-der company, who has just returned from a trip east, competed for the first time over the new Leggett traps, which have just been installed.
