Show CHIEF WHITE URGES DRASTIC AUTO LAW Claiming that automobile thefts by juveniles are rapidly increasing, and that the time has come for the passage of drastic law with a view to putting an end to such offenses, J. Parley White, chief of police, yesterday announced an-nounced he would recommend that the next legislature pass a law along lines similar to one recently enacted b7 Michigan. "The Michigan law," Chief Wtite said, "provides a penalty of five years' imprisonment or a fine of $1000, or both, for the theft of an automobile or motorcycle. There were 749 cars stolen in Salt Lake last year." |
