Show URUGUAY MINISTER DIES IN WASHINGTON WASHINGTON, April 30. Dr. Carlos Maria de Pcna, minister from Uruguay, died in .a hospital here today. Dr. de Pena was taken I11 April 21, and his condition con-dition since then i had heen considered hopeless. He had heen in this country as minister since May 31, 1911, and was n member of a distinguished family and had been a strong advocate of pan-American unity. Dr. de Pena was born in 1 and had hold several cabinet positions in Uruguay. He was a lawyer there and an author of some note. Dr. de Pena leaves a wife, four daughters daugh-ters and two soils. One son Is secretary of the legation here. |
