Show SALT LIKE KE1EI GET STRIKE ORDER Western Union Head Asked to Abide by War Labor Board Order. Orders to make immediate preparations prepara-tions for a strike in the very near future, fu-ture, the date for which has been set, but is being withheld, have been received re-ceived by the local telegraphers' union. The date, according to the order, will" bo made public by letter from the central headquarters of the international president presi-dent and twenty-four hours' notice will be given. The ordera affect every urflon telegrapher in the United States. The railroad telegraphers, indorsing the action of the Western Union and Postal Telegraph employees, sent a letter let-ter yesterday to President Carlton of the former company, asking him to reinstate re-instate all men discharged, with compensation com-pensation for the time lost, and to abide by the decision of the war labor board, asking for an answer by noon Saturday. The purpose of the strike, ae outlined in the orders, will be to in force the decision de-cision of the national war board and to compel the telegraph companies to observe ob-serve President "Wilson's proclamation of April S. The strike, as stated in the instructions, instruc-tions, is not expected to be a long one, and the railroad telegraphers will be asked to handle no commercial business. |
