Farreli, new president of the Rotury club of Salt Lake, presided at the regular luncheon of the club at the Hotel Utah yesterday noon and announced an-nounced the standing committees for the ensuing year. Church P. Castle, retiring president, was presented with a handsome traveling travel-ing bag by the club as a token of its appreciation of his excellent work as pre-j pre-j siding officer during the past year. The i presentation speech was made in humor-I humor-I ous vein by Lester D. Freed and Mr. ! Castle accepted the token with expression of deepest appreciation. Tho committees named by President Farreli are as foilows: Entertainment Fred Redman, chairman; chair-man; C. A. Wherry, A. H. Sconberg, C. ! C. Campbell and Albert Merrill. Cooci roads H. A. Sehweikhart, chairman; Roderick McKcnzie, C. W. Fifield, L. S. Mariner and Max Ottenheimer. Public affairs David A. Smith, E. O. Howard, Leon Sweet, W. S. McCarthy, H. V. Piatt. Finance J. M. Hayes, F. A. Fischer, P. L. Doran, M. A. Ay les worth and L. J. Price. Convention George U. Reif, chairman; F. C. Richmond, Clem Schramm, Church P. Castle, Gib Wright, Sam Neel and William McLeod. The membership committee, under the amended amend-ed by-laws is a secret committee and was not announced. Charles Tyng exhibited to the club a handsome gold watch which the club is presenting to Fred G. Redman, now in France, tor his valor in winning the croix de guerre. He announced that the watch would be turned over to the young man's mother to be kept until the soldier returns, re-turns, rather than sending it across the , ocean to him. This action was approved i by the club. ! On motion of F. C. Richmond, the former for-mer action of the club in not allowing any funds to be used to pay expenses ol the delegates to the international convention conven-tion at Kansas City was rescinded and the convention committee was given power to handle the matter of expenditure expendi-ture of the special convention fund while the amount of $500 was set aside to meet expenses of the four delegates and four alternates to the convention. |
